Milestones Augustine Heights Walk For Autism

From 29 March to 5 April 2020 our educators at Milestones Early Learning Augustine Heights will be walking 10,000 steps per day to help change the lives of people on the autism spectrum.

Centre Manager, Sharee Madden said, “The educators here at Milestones Augustine Heights have really risen up as individuals and united as a team. Between the whole team, 100,000 steps will be walked today and for the rest of the week."

“Educators getting involved in important community matters is such a terrific example for the children here at our centre. It really solidifies what we strive to teach them everyday and shows them the importance of teamwork and creating a sense of belonging for all,” said Sharee.

The involvement of children in fundraising and other community activities can help children develop respect for those around them. Giving back also creates a sense of accomplishment in children for having helped people in need.

Getting the children to become more active members of the community is a key element of the Healthy Communities Lifelong Learning approach. We encourage children to be active participants in their community and understand the important role they play.

Questions to ask on your family centre tour

When touring childcare centres for the first time it can be overwhelming.

As the saying goes, ‘first impressions’ count, but taking the time to ask deeper questions and really find out what your early education and childcare centre has to offer you and your child will always be time well spent.

Day for Daniel

Across Australia, we are recognising Day for Daniel as part of National Safe Work Month. Day for Daniel is Australia's largest day of action to help raise awareness of child safety, a cause that’s close to the hearts of all our Centre Managers and educators.
